To be honest: I don't want to learn how to do things.

In theory, that sounds cool, but not so patient. I don't like waiting for things. If I want some strawberry jam on my toast, I want it NOW … not in a month, you know?

And this is where chia seed jam making will knock off your socks.

It's so easy, so easy, and so damn versatile! Mix it in sweet potato breakfast bowls, put it in oatmeal, or just cut it on a toast if you feel a little easier. Everything is good.

What makes Strawberry Chia Jam healthy?

When summer approaches, all things from STRAWBERRY are just around the corner! All my heart over there – I love strawberries! I love her in Microwave strawberry mug cake and in strawberry, no bake, gluten-free paleo lemon bars or in a cold and refreshing strawberry-coconut popsicle with blueberries. Another way to enjoy strawberries is jam spread over EVERYTHING! Traditionally, jam is loaded with refined sugar that tastes fantastic but is not the healthiest option. That's why I turned it healthy. This healthy jam I'm going to show you today that there is no refined sugar, but it is still sweet because I used honey / agave nectar instead of white granulated sugar! All the sweetness, no sugar!

The list of must-haves for this jam recipe is not long. I've summarized some healthy, healthy, and delicious ingredients that together make a sweet and tasty jam that will become your new favorite! You need the following:

  • Strawberries, roughly chopped
  • water
  • Fresh lemon juice
  • Honey or agave nectar
  • Chia seeds

How to make healthy jelly

Healthy, sweet, delicious! Anything you could ever want in a jam, I'm right !? Let's make it easy!


Put the chopped strawberries, water and fresh lemon juice in a large saucepan. Bring the mixture to a boil.


As soon as this mixture comes to a boil, reduce the heat to medium and continue to stir, stirring frequently, until the strawberries start to decompose. This should take about 5 minutes. Next take off the stove and mash with a potato masher.


Put the mixture back on medium heat and add the honey and chia seeds. Cook for another 5 minutes or so until thickened.


Pour the jam into an airtight container and let it cool on the counter with the lid removed. As soon as it has completely cooled down, it has thickened considerably. Put the lid on the container and store it in the fridge until it's done!

Can I use it in other recipes that require strawberry jelly?

There are so many baking recipes that use jams and jellies. When you've put together a stack of them Chia jam and want to use it when baking, do it! It should work great as a replacement for in-store jelly AND will be a low-sugar, more natural, and healthier way to bake!

How long can I keep strawberry jam?

If you don't like difficult and complicated recipes, but rather healthier and homemade foods, this strawberry jam is just the thing for you! Spread it on toast, sandwiches and scones or bake it in pies and cookies! Simple, good for you, naturally sweetened – there is so much to love about this homemade jelly. Once it's done, you can keep it in an airtight container in the fridge and it will keep for about a week!

  • 2nd cups Strawberries, roughly chopped (300g)
  • 4th TL water
  • 2nd TL Fresh lemon juice
  • 4th TL Honey or agave
  • 4th TL Chia seeds


  • Put the strawberries, water and lemon juice in a large saucepan and bring to a boil.

  • After cooking, reduce the heat to medium and cook with frequent stirring for about 5 minutes until the strawberries start to decompose. Remove from the heat and mash with a potato masher.

  • Stir in the honey and chia seeds over medium heat and simmer for about 5 minutes.

  • Transfer to an airtight container and allow to cool to room temperature on the counter (this will thicken considerably).

  • Cool and REMOVE if desired!


You can keep this in the fridge for about a week!
