Traitor to Sarah Elisabeth Sawyer
Sarah Elisabeth Sawyer is another epic Christian historical novel. It is the second book in the Choctaw Tribune series that I love.
The action is scheduled for 1893 and affects the Choctaw people who are still being mistreated and are considered second class citizens. "God created only one race – humanity."
Those who build their lives on wealth and power make extraordinary efforts to silence the truth. "My brother stands for truth … makes him unpopular with many." We don't need human confirmation. We have to tell the truth and live with a clear conscience.
Once again we follow our brave young heroine, who is ahead of her time in thinking and acting. She is not satisfied with just telling the truth, but is about tracking down the perpetrators of the crime and bringing them to justice.
Names matter. Family names create both positive and negative connotations when characters try to hide their true identity.
The Chicago World's Fair offers. The living descriptions help the place to come alive for the reader.
I love this series. It is now time to book three for me.
I want to leave you my favorite quote:
"Jesus Christ is not just a good way; He is the only way."
I got this book for free. A positive rating was not required and all views expressed are my own.
