Imitation of Christ
by Thomas a Kempis

Thomas à Kempis (approx. 1380 – July 25, 1471) was a German-Dutch canonist of the late Middle Ages and author of the imitation of Christ, one of the most popular and well-known Christian devotional books. His name means "Thomas von Kempen", Kempen is his hometown. He was a member of Modern Devotion, a spiritual movement in the late Middle Ages, and a supporter of Geert Groote and Florens Radewyns, the founders of the brothers of the common life.
