The recently retired administrator of Westminster Cathedral died at the age of 74, the Westminster diocese announced.

Canon Christopher Tuckwell resigned as administrator just two weeks ago for health reasons.

Canon Tuckwell, an Anglican convert, was ordained a Catholic priesthood by Cardinal Hume in 1995.

The diocese said, “Compassion is due to Canon Christopher's family and friends, the clergy and parishioners of the cathedral community and his former parishes in the diocese, as well as those with whom he served as an Anglican priest and those with whom he served as an officer in the army.
