A planned alumni day at the Blue Coat School in Birmingham was canceled by governors last year after a former student who survived child sexual abuse bought a ticket, according to the Church Times email correspondence emerges.

Survivor Julian Whiting claims he was abused by a student and two caretakers of the school founded by the church when he was a student there in the 1970s. None of the adults was a priest. A police investigation into his case was completed in 2002 and no further action or charges were brought.
