Three weeks after the crisis started, there was a serious moral argument in the rich countries affected by the pandemic. The question is how coronavirus deaths can be weighed against future deaths due to the effects of poverty and economic contraction.

The clearest two statements for the assumption of further deaths now came from former Supreme Court Justice Lord Sumption and Dr. Johan Carlson, the Swedish epidemiologist who is responsible for the health department there.
