A pastor who claimed to have "cured coronavirus victims by placing his hands on them" died of Covid-19, which caused fear among his followers.

Coronavirus sufferers had come to the Kingship International Ministries Church in Cameroon, where Pastor Frankline Ndifor, 39, a candidate in the 2018 presidential election in the Central African state of Cameroon, claimed to cure the disease.

Ndifor, who was called a "prophet" by his followers, reportedly suffered from severe breathing difficulties one week after the virus was infected. He died just ten minutes after treatment.

The entrance to his home in Douala, the capital, was blocked for hours by his followers, preventing medical personnel from recovering the body. His followers prayed and hoped that he could rise. He was finally buried in front of his house.

One of Ndifor's followers said, "This is a pastor who has put his hands on the sick and claimed to heal COVID-19. If you, the person who claims to heal COVID-19, you are dead what about the people who were affected by COVID-19? "

Ndifor was the seventh of nine candidates in the Cameroon presidential election in 2018.

So far, 140 deaths have been recorded in the country.
