* Boss 👩‍🍳 kiss *

I just had to start this post this way because THIS SAUCE. OH MY GOD.

It's SO FREAKING FLAVORFUl … as if it had been cooking for 4 hours in a little Italian grandma's kitchen, but PSYCH! It was only in the instant pot for 20 minutes.

In all honesty, I never wanted to make my own tomato sauce because it took so much time.

But now? I foresee homemade tomato sauce in both of our future prospects.

Served on a whole 30 meatballs or healthy turkey meatballs.

Maybe mixed in some noodle bowls with beef and cabbage? The tomato options are ENDLESS my friends.

How to do Instant Pot Tomato Sauce

Turn on the instant pot and set it to sautee mode. Add the oil and onion and cook until brown.

Add all of the remaining ingredients except for the extra oil and garlic and stir to combine in the instant pot.

Prepare the garlic

Cut the tips off the garlic and rub oil on them. Tightly wrap the garlic in 2 layers of aluminum foil and place it in the center of the ingredients in the instant pot.

Set the instant pot to “seal” and cook under manual high pressure for 20 minutes.

Immediately release the steam and pour the sauce into your blender. Take the garlic out of the package and put as much as your heart desires into the blender. Season with salt and bend until smooth.

How do you prevent tomato sauce from burning in the instant pot?

Since tomatoes consist of a lot of water, there is no great risk of burns with this sauce. However, when mixing, you should make sure that the condiments in this recipe don't touch the bottom of your instant pot. This prevents burning!
