Oath of honor by Lynette Eason
Exciting and exciting
Lynette Eason's Oath of Honor is an exciting contemporary Christian tension that I just couldn't put down. It's the first book in the Blue Justice series – and luckily, the following books in the series are lying on a stack next to my bed, just waiting to be read.
The action is complicated and well executed. I read with a racing heart and clenched teeth as the tension increased. Lynette Eason sure knows how to paint the scenes with her words while the action is taking place in my head.
There is a community and family atmosphere – the law enforcement agency acts as a family, protects its own and serves the community. There is love and loyalty. If the suspicion is on its own, there is a belief that more must be at stake than the appearance of the surface suggests.
We have truth and lies, conspiracies and intrigues, gangs and goodies – Oath of Honor is a fantastic start to a new series.
Loss hurts. When loss is due to pain, it is easy to question God's presence. "God, I hope you're here. Somewhere. Because I certainly don't see you." Pain and loss can temporarily blind us when we see God at work. Now we need to build on our solid foundations and knowledge, and rely on God being good and God being love. "God, I know you're sovereign. You can bring good from evil, but sometimes it's hard to remember." In our darkest time we have to hold on to God and trust Him.
Lynette Eason is a new author for me. It has just been added to my ever growing list of favorite authors. I recommend picking up the oath of honor today. It’s fabulous. It would be a wonderful TV or Netflix series – all producers please take note of this.
