From the National Association of Evangelicals

Dear NAE Board of Directors,

As you probably know, the President declared Sunday March 15th the National Day of Prayer. I am writing to let you know that the NAE wants to show solidarity with all who ask the Lord. Beyond our President's call, our King's command is to be prayed. "Seek the peace and prosperity of the city in which I have exiled you. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it thrives, you will also succeed ”(Jeremiah 29: 7).

Tomorrow we are calling God's people to pray across the country. We will pray in different languages. Some will apply liturgy; others will speak in tongues. Some will be distributed in houses; others in high sanitation sanctuaries. But everyone will pray in the belief that God rules, listens and answers.

As we pray, a few things come to mind. Let's pray:

so that God's love is the foundation of our hope;

for God's mercy to stop the spread of this virus;

for God's healing from those who are sick all over the world;

for God's strength for medical personnel who serve tirelessly;

so that God's insight is given to researchers who are looking for solutions;

for God's wisdom to lead citizens and health officials;

so that God's peace protects us from fear or fear;

for God's care for those whose livelihood and income are affected by this crisis;

for God's creativity to make us agents of love and compassion; and

so that God's Spirit draws people to the saving power of Jesus.

May we know the comfort and strength of the Lord in our prayer: “Do not be afraid of anything, but present your requests to God in every situation through prayer and thanks. And the peace of God beyond understanding will protect your heart and mind in Christ Jesus ”(Philippians 4: 6–7).

Together in the Lord

From the Southern Baptist Convention

Together with Walter, the Executive Committee of the Southern Baptist Convention asked “our more than 47,500 churches of the Southern Baptist Convention to commit to a certain prayer time this Sunday, March 15, 2020, to seek unity in these matters for the Lord :

  1. In His Mercy, ask God to stop this pandemic and save lives – not only in our communities, but around the world, especially in places that are medically incapable of dealing with the virus. (Isiah 59: 1-2)
  2. Pray that President Donald Trump and other leaders – international, federal, state, and local – have the wisdom to guide us in best practices for prevention and care. (Romans 13: 1-4)
  3. Scripture says: Teach us to count our days carefully so that we can develop wisdom in our hearts. Pray that the Lord will give us wisdom at this moment of fear when the basics of what we know are shaken, others recognize how fragile life is and how real eternity is, and they will see that they have to turn to God. (Psalm 90:12)
  4. As God, to protect our missionaries and their families around the world and use this global crisis to spread His Good News to the whole world. (Mark 16:15) ”

From the assemblies of God

Superintendent Doug Clay wrote this article on corona virus advice and asked the congregation of God's community to respond to the President's request for prayer in the following ways:

"Pray that we are driven by faith, not fear.

Pray for people affected all over the world.

Pray for our missionary family and global partners.

Pray that the Church will use the opportunities of service.

Pray that "the God of Hope will fill you with joy and peace if you trust in him."

We will be happy to hear your thoughts
