However, you don't know what your life will be like tomorrow. You are just a vapor that appears for a while and then disappears.
James 4:14

Have you ever noticed how we rely on tomorrow? Have you ever noticed that we think we have a lot of time to do things right with God and do things right with others because death is so far away? Hmmm.

A few years ago I carried out a friend's funeral. He was one of my basketball friends and we played together quite a few times. On a Sunday afternoon, David was playing ball in the playground. After a basket he had made, he turned to run down the yard and fell on a pile. He suffered a massive heart attack and was dead before falling to the floor. He was 42 years old and apparently in good shape.

Last Saturday I held another basketball friend's funeral. He also died of a massive heart attack. He was 48 years old and full of life.

God promises us nothing tomorrow. Our life is a vapor, a cloud of smoke. You'll be here in one minute and gone the next. Just like the morning mist that rolls in and out, life is short.

Because life is so short and tomorrow is not promised, it is important to DO MOST TODAY. Do you do that

Joe's Crab Shack had a sign outside the restaurant that said "Free Crabs. Tomorrow". The only problem was that "tomorrow" never came. Don't postpone for tomorrow. Because tomorrow may never come.

1. Do you know that you are right with God? If you had a massive heart attack, would you go to heaven? Have you given your life to Jesus Christ and received His forgiveness and salvation? Do you know for sure that your name is in the Lamb Book of Life? If not, receive it TODAY!

2. Did you do everything right with family and friends? Is there someone you have to forgive? Is there someone you have to ask to forgive yourself? Do it today!

3. Are there people who have made a big difference in your life and who you never told them? Tell them TODAY! Write them a letter TODAY!

4. Do your children grow up in front of your eyes? and you are too busy with the work and worries of life to really notice them or spend time with them? Spend time with them TODAY!

God gave us "today". Thats all we have. So let it count every day. As the poem says: "Only a life will soon be over, only what is done for Christ will be permanent."
