Who doesn't know Jonah? While at first glance we think of it as the story of a whale, it really is a story of God's heart towards the nations. God uses this timeless story to challenge us to His most important obligation – to reach the nations with the message of His love and forgiveness. Even if they are our arch enemies, he wants us to go there and tell them about the wonderful grace of Jesus … greater than all of our sins.

Jesus himself summarized the story of Jonah when he left this earth. The last two verses of Matthew 28 say, "So go and make disciples from all nations." He had a plan for Jonah, and this plan also applies to us.
