Surrender to God's plan

Go Through Hell To Go To Heaven by Dr. Scott Hodkiewicz is a powerful account of real life, not just of a family that survived, but that actually flourished. This is impressive reading about recovery from a terrible accident and the lessons that God drew when the family invaded him.

Before the crash, the author was a veterinarian. He had built a successful life and had a nice house. In worldly terms it was a success. The author admits that prior to the crash, he used the gifts God had given him for himself. While after the crash God's gifts were used for God and others. His perspective changed completely as he focused on the real treasures of life.

We all have moments in life that define us – for Dr. It was Scott Hodkiewisz and his family when a drunk, disqualified driver crashed into his family car. But God is a faithful God and at the right time he sent his angels in human form to serve exactly where they were needed.

God is a God who cares – not just for us but for all of his creatures. We can see this clearly in the care of the two dogs in the family, who were also in the car accident. People with the right skills and kind hearts served the dogs and knew how important they are to the three children. Time, money and skills were given.

During his recovery, the author learned to "hear" God's voice and to leave his life to God's plans. He also had a choice: “I was no longer a victim; I was a survivor. “As soon as we decide to see the world through the eyes of a survivor, our perspective will change.

There was still one big decision to make – to forgive the drunk driver or not. Forgiveness is also to our advantage. If we forgive someone, we will be released from the prison of bitterness and hatred. The drunk driver "didn't deserve forgiveness, but I would still forgive him." And that is grace in action.

I found Going Through Hell an incredibly powerful and inspiring read. God taught many lessons to the family in this dark time. God's love is great and his angels walk among us in human form. If you want to expand your belief muscle, I really recommend reading this book.

I want to leave you with this powerful quote:

"God is always with us by the pain, but it never promised a life without Pain."

I got this book for free. A positive rating was not required and all views expressed are my own.
