Corona virus and the Christian religion
The Bible tells us how to react if we suffer from significant life stresses with the coronavirus like this season.
Principles that we find throughout the Bible as topics are there for us to deal with the various trials we experience.
Principles like – don't worry. Trust God. Rely on God.
In the book of Matthew, Jesus gives us instructions about concern.
"… .. Don't worry about your life, what you're going to eat or drink; or about your body, what you're going to wear. Isn't life more than food and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; They do not sow, harvest or store in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren't you much more valuable than them?? Can any of you who are worried add an hour to your life?
"And why are you worried about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They don't work or spin. Still, I tell you that not even Solomon in all his glory was dressed like one of them. If God dresses the grass of the field that is here today and tomorrow in this way, will he not dress you much more – you of little faith? So don't worry and say, "What should we eat?" Or "What should we drink?" Or "What should we wear?" Because the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But first seek his kingdom and justiceand all these things are given to you too. So don't worry about tomorrow, because tomorrow will worry about yourself. Every day has its own problems. “Jesus in Matthew 6: 25-34
In the above verses I notice two sentences. They are much more valuable than the air birds that God cares about. He loves you so much more than animals … and he cares for animals, so he will surely care for you. And Jesus tells us what to do instead of worrying. He asks us to seek his kingdom and justice.
In times of stress like the corona virus, God wants us to turn to him and his ways. He wants us to put our full trust in ourselves.
Stressful times or trials are times when we have the opportunity to strengthen our faith and our relationship with God. God wants us to get closer.
During this coronavirus season, God is calling you and all believers to approach him. "Approach God and he will approach you." James 4: 8 If you intend to focus your heart and mind on God, He will contact you. It will give you the peace you want in stressful times.
Jesus is your peace! "Because he himself is our peace." Ephesians 2:14.
If you trust God and understand that He is in control, you can control the coming weeks and months of this Coronavirus season with peace and quiet. God will give you wisdom. His spirit that lives in you will guide you.
This way you can be a good neighbor to others. They can be an even brighter light for those who don't yet know our loving and faithful Heavenly Father.
