Contained in the Golden Ribbons by Norma Gail
Joy comes in the morning
Inside Norma Gail's Golden Bands is a wonderful contemporary Christian crime suspense. It is part of the A Home For My Heart series, but can be read as a standalone version. I would recommend reading the first book first so you can get to know the characters and see their progress.
Wow, what a great read. As the tension increased, my heart rate also increased. The plot is well thought out and executed. Revenge motivates some horrific crimes when a character is consumed.
In contrast, there is goodness and light when characters live out their belief in God. He "cannot steal our faith or destroy our spirits if we don't allow it." We cannot stop life, but we can decide how we react – in faith or in fear.
Life can be difficult. Sometimes we have to trust God in the dark and "trust in God's silence". God always works for us, even if we don't see or hear him.
Prayer is important. Prayer releases the power of God and leaves a peace that goes beyond all reason. She "watched how calm changed him when he left his worries with God." Sometimes "prayers refused to come." If we have no words, God knows that our hearts are crying.
The novel has the painful themes of miscarriage and infertility. These are displayed sensitively and we can “feel” the emotions and pain. There is also the issue of adoption that reminds us that we are all adopted into God's family.
Norma Gail describes the landscape comprehensively and enables the reader to "see" the places and "walk" through the novel.
I really loved Within Golden Bands because it showed the loyalty of God and his heart to his children and it was a great story.
I would like to leave you with my preferred and very powerful quote:
"God's forgiveness is limited only by not looking for it."
I got this book for free. A positive rating was not required and all views expressed are my own.
