I'm looking for the lost
Circumvent by S.K. Derban is a contemporary Christian tension that will fascinate you and leave you guessing.
The characters are well drawn and realistic. The setting is exotic in Hawaii, which is moving to Lyon in France. With full descriptions we can see the scenes in our mind's eye.
We see that even if a character can remember very little, he can still remember that he loves God. This underscores the importance of really knowing God so that we can remember him even when all else fails. We are reminded that God engraved our name on His hands. He will never forget us We see this symbolized in the novel when a bracelet is engraved with a name.
A change of name means a change of circumstances.
There is the issue of trust. God can always be trusted. The evil one tries to deceive us as he can even be disguised as goodness.
True love means leaving the house to look for the one who is lost. Likewise, Jesus will leave the ninety-nine to look for the one.
Circumvent was engaging read. I think it would translate well into a movie. Please take note of all producers.
I volunteered to review a free copy of this book that I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.
