The missing church plate, which is believed to have been lost in the mail, was rediscovered in an auction house about to go under the hammer.

The £ 8,000 silver was lost in the mail over Christmas. It was the third delivery of replacement silver for St. Peter’s, Copdock, in Suffolk after the original cutlery was stolen.
