Bible overview: NIV Coronary heart of Gold Bible
NIV heart of gold bible. Zondervan, 2019, 1088 pages (9-point font)
Read level: Intermediate, 10-12 years
Recommended for: 8-12 years
Although "girls" is not included in the title, this edition is clearly aimed at girls, from the gold-hearted cover to the back: "Call all daughters of the king!" And all the pink tinted pages in between. To be fair, I haven't had a chance to see this book in person (can't browse Mardel's shelves these days), but if the devotion to the examples is an indication, I have significant problems with it. Devo No. 1 takes a passage from the Song of Solomon and confirms: “God often declares that the people he made and loved are good and beautiful. He says everything he loves about them from head to toe. He means you. You are beautiful overall, darling. "This is how sinners can be condemned! Another prayer about Deborah emphasizes the guidance and distinction of being a" single "like the only Christian in the room." Just being means that you are brave. " The title "Give God the Glory" is mainly about "you".
I understand that a lot of girls have serious problems with self-image, but that's a bit thick. If the rest of the devotions are in that direction, they may never be able to help a girl face her real problems (note: it's not bad hair or lack of popularity). I'm having problems with dedicated Bibles anyway (see link below), but there are better options than this.
