Dip the chicken in the flour and then in the egg with one hand, shaking the excess. With the other dry hand, press the chicken into the panko mixture and place it in the mesh basket of the air fryer. Repeat with the remaining chicken.

  • 1 lb Chicken breast (about 4 small breasts)
  • 1/4 Cup White wholemeal flour (or GF general purpose)
  • 1/3 Cup Italian flavored breadcrumbs (GF if necessary)
  • 1/3 Cup Italian-flavored panko (GF if necessary)
  • 4 1/2 TL Italian spice
  • 3/4 TL salt
  • 1/2 Cup + 2 tbsp Parmesan cheese, grated and divided
  • 2nd Big eggs
  • 1/3 Cup Marinara sauce
  • 1/2 Cup Mozzarella cheese, Grated
  • Sliced ​​basil, for garnish


  1. Place the chicken between two layers of parchment paper and press it about 1 cm thick with a rolling pin or meat mallet.

  2. Place the flour in a large plate with a rim. Then mix the breadcrumbs, panko, Italian spices, salt and 1/3 cup of parmesan together and pour into another plate with a rim. Finally, whisk the eggs in a medium bowl.

  3. With one hand, dip the chicken into the flour and then into the egg and shake off the excess. Use our other hand to cover the chicken with the panko mixture and press it down to coat it well. Place in the mesh fryer basket and repeat with all remaining chickens.

  4. Bake at 400 degrees until the chicken starts to brown and become crispy, about 8-10 minutes.

  5. Then spread the marinara sauce over the chicken, followed by the rest of the Parmesan cheese and the mozzarella cheese. Bake for another 2-4 minutes until the cheese has melted and the chicken inside is 165 degrees F.
