How to cook Air fryer broccoli

If you think that preparing delicious, nutritious and tasty food must be very difficult, this recipe will prove you wrong! You can whip it up in a pinch with the help of a reliable air fryer and the whole family will go crazy for it! Here's how:

Throw

Put the broccoli, peanut oil, garlic, and some sea salt in a large bowl. Throw to combine.

cook

If possible, distribute the broccoli in one layer in the mesh basket of your air fryer. Cook at 400 degrees Fahrenheit until the broccoli is done.

Prepare the sauce

While the broccoli is toasting in the air fryer, combine soy sauce, honey, sriracha, and rice vinegar in a small, microwaveable bowl. Microwave for a while to melt the honey, remove and whisk until smooth.

Throw

Once the broccoli is cooked, transfer it back to a large bowl and add the soy sauce mixture. Throw to coat it evenly.

Enjoy

Add the chopped peanuts and squeeze some lime juice over them, then serve and DISCOVER!

Serving suggestions

While this air fryer broccoli is a tasty snack or appetizer in itself, I usually recommend serving it as a side dish! I love to have it with Asian turkey meatballs or Asian instant pot pork tenderloin and a pile of fried paleo cauliflower rice to round off the plate.

Broccoli Air Fryer Recipe FAQ

Is Broccoli Good For You?

YES! Broccoli contains vitamins A, C, K and a variety of B vitamins. It's packed with nutrients to help keep you healthy, protein to keep you full, and fiber to keep your digestive system working well. Including broccoli in your diet is a good idea!

Can i use frozen broccoli?

While I recommend using fresh broccoli, it is possible to use frozen broccoli for this recipe. Make sure you thaw it and squeeze out some moisture before cooking as frozen broccoli won't get as crispy.

Can I make it early?

This works well as a side dish for meal prep if you cook it ahead of time, although it won't stay crispy!

  • In a large bowl, combine the broccoli, peanut oil, and garlic and season with sea salt. Make sure the oil covers all of the broccoli florets. I like to use my hands to give everyone a quick rub.

  • Spread the broccoli in as many layers as possible in the wire basket of your air fryer and try to leave a little space between the individual flowers.

  • Cook until golden brown and crispy at 400 degrees, about 15 – 20 minutes while stirring halfway.

  • While the broccoli is cooking, mix the honey, soy sauce, sriracha, and rice vinegar in a small, microwaveable bowl.

  • After mixing, microwave the mixture for 10-15 seconds until the honey is melted and incorporated evenly.

  • Place the cooked broccoli in a bowl and add the soy sauce mixture. Throw to coat and season with a pinch of salt if necessary.

  • Stir in peanuts and squeeze lime on top (if desired).

  • Devoured!

Tips & Notes:

You can also toast this on a large pan in a 425 degree oven to make sure the broccoli doesn't get overfilled. Cook for about 20 minutes while stirring halfway. You will also need 2 tablespoons of peanut oil.
